Fresno, CA (November 3rd, 2023) A pedestrian was struck and injured by a vehicle that fled the scene in Fresno on Thursday night, November 2nd, according to the Fresno Police Department. Authorities reported that the accident occurred around 9:00 p.m. at the intersection of Shields and Cedar.
A witness at the scene said the pedestrian, a man in his 40’s, was standing in the center median, waiting to cross the street. He then stepped from the median out into the road and was immediately hit by a vehicle that was driving down the road. The driver didn’t stop, but instead, continued down the road until the vehicle was out of sight.

Emergency personnel arrived at the scene and paramedics quickly transported the pedestrian to a local hospital where he is expected to make a full recovery.
Officers were determined to find the driver and talked to witnesses at the scene. They eventually found him and he was arrested for felony hit-and-run charges and DUI charges and took him to jail.
