Bakersfield, CA (August 4, 2023) A pedestrian was struck by a car on Thursday night around 9:30 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol Traffic Incident Information page. After hitting the pedestrian, the vehicle continued driving.

The accident occurred around Fairfax Road and Edison Highway in southeast Bakersfield. California Highway Patrol responded and found the pedestrian injured, the vehicle long gone from the site of the accident.
Officials said the injured pedestrian was transported to Kern Medical to received treatment for injuries he sustained in the collision. Fire officials stayed to clear the scene. The hit-and-run accident is still under investigation.
