Rio Linda, CA (September 15, 2023) A pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run collision on Thursday night, according to the California Highway Patrol. The tragic accident occurred around 9:30 p.m.

Metro Fire of Sacramento crews responded to the accident at Elkhorn Boulevard and Rio Linda Boulevard. Upon arrival, officers found the pedestrian lying in the road; they were pronounced dead at the scene. The driver who hit the pedestrian did not stop.
A second car came down the road and tried to avoid the pedestrian who was lying in the road. This caused the car to crash in the front yard of a home. The driver of this 2nd car was injured and taken to a local hospital to receive medical attention.
