SAN DIEGO, CA (September 12, 2022) – Police today are investigating ra Rancho Bernardo hit-and-run crash after a driver of a mini van admitted to striking a man in a crosswalk.
The 33-year-old victim was in a marked crosswalk with a light-up sign when he was struck by a white mini van in the 15500 block of Bernardo Center Drive around 8:15 p.m. Sunday, according to the San Diego Police Department.
The man was taken to a hospital where he died of injuries suffered in the crash.
Shortly after 1 a.m. Monday, the mini van driver surrendered to police.
Police did not release the identity of neither the victim nor the mini van driver.
