Early morning on February 5th started normally as a pedestrian walked near South El Dorado Street and French Camp Road, just before 5:00 a.m. In a devastating twist, the pedestrian was struck and run over by a passing vehicle, authorities reported.

It was south of the bridge when a driver hit and then ran over something while traveling north on French Camp Road. The driver immediately stopped and called 911, claiming their vehicle had become disabled because they “ran someone over,” dispatchers said.

Emergency personnel rushed to the scene and found the driver, waiting for them. Paramedics found the pedestrian, but unfortunately, they were already deceased. With heavy hearts, they pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene.
