Palmdale, CA (May 9, 2024) Tragedy struck the community of Palmdale on Monday night when a pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle. 26-year-old Miguel Negrete was killed while walking on East Palmdale Boulevard just before 10:00 p.m. on May 6th, according to reports.
Negrete was walking along the road on Monday night, May 6th. At approximately 9:50 p.m., under the darkness of night, a vehicle approached. Negrete was walking in the 200 block of East Palmdale Boulevard when the vehicle struck him. The force threw Negrete several feet away, where he landed hard on the ground. He laid on the ground, motionless, as the driver stopped and waited for police officers.
Emergency crews rushed to the scene with sires blaring and lights flashing through the night sky. Upon arrival, they found Negrete lying on the ground. Paramedics hurried to give life-saving treatment, but sadly, he was already deceased. Negrete had sustained blunt force trauma in the accident and did not survive. Authorities gently placed a tarp over his body and pronounced Miguel Netrete dead at the scene.
Officers gathered evidence and spoke to the driver of the vehicle who hit Negrete. At this time, homicide detectives are handling the investigation into this accident. They are determined to figure out what caused the vehicle to hit Negrete in the first place.
