Hesperia, CA (April 15, 2024) A pedestrian was struck by a hit-and-run driver near Gator’s Sports Bar and Grill at Seventh Avenue and Walnut Street in Hesperia. The accident happened on Sunday, April 14th, and the pedestrian sustained serious injuries. The San Bernardino County Fire Department received the 911 call just before 8:00 p.m.
A pedestrian was walking near Gator’s Sports Bar and Grill in Hesperia on Sunday evening, near the intersection of Seventh Street and Walnut Street. A vehicle approached them and, for reasons still unknown, hit the pedestrian and continued driving down the road. The force from the impact threw the pedestrian onto the ground where they laid with serious injuries.
The San Bernardino County Fire Department as well as the Hesperia Police Department arrived at the scene and found the pedestrian on the ground with several serious injuries. The pedestrian was carefully loaded into an ambulance and then rushed to Hesperia Airport. There, the pedestrian was placed in a helicopter and flown to a trauma center to receive treatment.
The investigation is being led by the Hesperia Police Department. They are determined to figure out what vehicle struck the pedestrian and to locate it.
