Watsonville, CA (November 25, 2023) A pedestrian lost their life on Friday evening, November 24th, on Main Street near Green Valley Road in Watsonville. Police officers said the fatal accident occurred at approximately 7:30 p.m.

Officers and paramedics were called to the scene on the 1900 block of Main Street near Green Valley Road for a pedestrian versus vehicle accident. Emergency crews arrived at the scene and found a man, said to be in his 50s, on the ground. He was unresponsive and authorities pronounced him dead at the scene. Authorities called a medical examiner to come and retrieve the body. The pedestrian’s identity is being withheld until his next of kin has been notified, according to police officers.
The driver of the car that struck the man remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities, but no other details have been released at this time. Police have not said if any arrests have been made or if drugs and alcohol were suspected to be factors in this fatal accident.
