Pedestrian struck and killed by Transit bus in Natomas.

Natomas, CA (September 10, 2024) A tragic accident occurred on Monday morning, September 9th, 2024, in the town of Natomas. A pedestrian was struck and killed by a Sacramento Regional Transit bus near the intersection of Banfield Drive and Club Center Drive.

It was approximately 8:30 a.m. on Monday morning as a man said to be in his 60s walked through Natomas. As he walked, an RT Smart Ride Bus approached him. For reasons that remain unknown, but the bus hit the pedestrian, knocking the man to the ground. The driver of the bus immediately stopped and waited for authorities to arrive at the scene.

Emergency personnel arrived and found the man on the ground with severe injuries. They began life-saving measures as they waited for paramedics to arrive. Unfortunately, the pedestrian’s injuries were too severe and he succumbed to them. He was pronounced dead at the scene by authorities.

Officers reported that they questioned the driver of the RT bus as well as witnesses at the scene. They are working to piece together what caused this fatal pedestrian accident in Natomas on Monday morning.
