Fontana, CA (November 28, 2023) A female pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle in Fontana on Sunday, November 26th, according to authorities. The accident occurred just after 9:30 p.m. in the intersection of San Bernardino Avenue and Juniper Avenue.
Public Information Officer Daniel Romero said the San Bernardino Police Department was called shortly after 9:30 p.m. to the intersection of Juniper Avenue and San Bernardino Avenu. Upon arrival, they found a woman lying in the westbound lane of the roadway. Officers began CPR on the woman and continued until paramedics arrived at the scene. Unfortunately, the woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Her identity is has not been released and is awaiting the medical examiner to notify her next of kin.

Fontana’s Major Accident Investigation Team (M.A.I.T.) took charge of the investigation. They spoke to witnesses, gathered evidence at the scene and reviewed video footage of the accident. It appeared that the woman walked directly into the path of a car that was driving down San Bernardino Road, Officer Romero said.
Officers do not know why the woman stepped out in front of traffic and are still trying to put all the pieces together for this Fontana pedestrian accident.
