San Diego, CA (October 31, 2024) A woman was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver while walking in the Midway District in San Diego. The accident occurred on Wednesday night, October 30th, at approximately 9:30. The victim was struck at the intersection of Kurtz Street and Camino Del Rio West.
At approximately 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday, October 30th, a 40-year-old woman began crossing the street at Kurtz Street and Camino Del Rio West. Reports indicated that the woman was in a crosswalk, but walking on a red “Do not walk” sign. A vehicle came through the intersection on a green light, heading north, and struck the pedestrian. However, following the collision, the driver continued heading down the street until they were out of sight.
Emergency personnel arrived at the scene and found the woman lying in the middle of the roadway with fatal injuries. Sadly, nothing could be done and the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers are looking for a dark-colored vehicle, according to reports. They continue to investigate this accident and are determined to find the driver responsible and bring them to justice.
