Sparks, NV (October 28, 2024) A pedestrian in Sparks was struck and killed on Sunday evening, October 27th, 2024. It all happened on Prater Way, not far from 18th Street, right around 8:00 p.m., according to reports.
A man was struck and killed while possible riding a skateboard through Sparks on Sunday evening, reports indicated. Nighttime had fallen overt he town of Sparks, leaving the streets illuminated by street lights and headlights from vehicles. As the man road the skateboard, a vehicle approached. For reasons that remain unknown, the vehicle struck the pedestrian. The force knocked the pedestrian several feet before they finally landed on the ground.

Emergency personnel arrived at the scene and found the victim lying on the ground. Sadly, the man had succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by authorities. Officers said the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and was very respectful and cooperative during the investigation.
Officers are working to determine what happened on Prater Way in Sparks that evening. The driver of the vehicle was not intoxicated and police officers do not believe they were speeding at the time of the collision, either. Officers have reported that this accident remains under investigation.
