Woodland Hills, Los Angeles, CA (September 4, 2024) Sadness spread through the community of Woodland Hills on Tuesday morning, September 3rd, 2024, as residents learned of a pedestrian’s death.24-year-0ld Tianqu Wang was struck and killed by a vehicle on the Ventura 101 Freeway in the Woodland Hills area of Los Angeles, right around 6:00 a.m.
The accident occurred near Winnetka Avenue, officers reported. As vehicles traveled along the Ventura 101 Freeway, a man was walking along the shoulder. For reasons that remain unknown, the pedestrian was suddenly struck by a vehicle in the southbound lanes of the freeway. The 911 call was received right around 6:00 a.m., according to reports.

Emergency personnel made their way to the southbound Ventura 101 Freeway in Woodland Hills, only to find the pedestrian on the ground. The man was unresponsive so officers began life-saving measures on him, but there was nothing they could do. Wang had succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by authorities.
Officers had to block some of the southbound lanes of the freeway while they investigated this deadly accident. The lanes were not reopened until nearly 10:00 a.m., reports indicated. Officers continue to investigate this accident to determine what happened on the 101 Freeway in Woodland Hills.
