Roger Williamson Struck, Killed Near Burbank Empire Center

Pedestrian killed in a Burbank parking lot.

Burbank, CA (April 23, 2024) Tragedy struck the community of Burbank on Sunday, April 21st, when a 71-year-old pedestrian was killed. Arleta resident, Roger Williamson, did not survive the accident, according to reports. The deadly accident took place in a parking lot outside of the Burbank Empire Center on N. Third Street. The Burbank Police Department received the call at approximately 1:45 p.m.

The Burbank Empire Center is home to businesses such as Krispy Kreme and Sephora. The parking lot usually has a high number of vehicles coming and going most days. On Sunday, April 21st, a vehicle was driving through the parking lot in the 200 block of N. Third Street, as a pedestrian walked through the parking lot. Suddenly, the vehicle hit the pedestrian, knocking the 71-year-old Williamson to the ground.

The Burbank Police Department arrived at the scene with paramedics and found Williamson lying in the parking lot with life-threatening injuries. Paramedics did everything they could, but sadly, Roger Williamson succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by authorities. Officers spoke with the driver of the vehicle and gathered evidence as they waited for the coroner to arrive at the scene. They were working diligently to determine what caused this fatal accident in a Burbank parking lot.
