WEST COVINA, CA (July 7, 2022) – Authorities identified Rachel Vargas, 40, of Pomona, as the woman who was struck by at least one vehicle and killed on the eastbound 10 freeway in West Covina.
Rachel Vargas was injured about 12:40 a.m. Tuesday near Holt Avenue, and tragically died at the scene, according to the Los Angeles County coroner’s office and the California Highway Patrol.
According to the CHP, someone reported that a woman wearing dark clothing was walking in the slow lane of the freeway before she was fatally injured. The circumstances of her death are under investigation.
