San Mateo, CA )October 30, 2024) A woman and her dog were struck and injured while walking in San Mateo on Monday afternoon, October 28th. It happened around 4 o’clock in the Hillside neighborhood on 28th Street, according to reports.

The woman was walking her dog on Monday afternoon when a vehicle approached. At approximately 4:00, the vehicle hit the woman and her dog, according to reports. Several emergency vehicles arrived at the scene, blocking traffic. Officers directed traffic away from the scene as first responders aided the woman and the dog, who had both sustained serious injuries in the accident.

The woman was rushed to a local trauma center with critical injuries. The dog was taken to a veterinarian hospital by a patrol vehicle to receive treatment, reports indicated. The driver of the vehicle stopped and cooperated with authorities during the investigation. Officers with the San Mateo Police Department continue to investigate this accident in an attempt to figure out what exactly caused it.
