Vista, CA (November 15, 2024) A deadly pedestrian accident occurred in Vista on October 23rd, 2024. 75-year-old Sergio Castaneda Mendoza was struck and killed at the intersection of Townsite Drive and East Vista Way, just after 10:00 p.m.
A 2024 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck was heading through the intersection of Townsite Drive and East Vista Way in Vista. As the pickup went through the intersection, Mendoza was crossing the street, according to reports. The Dodge struck Mendoza, knocking him to the ground. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the pickup, identified only as a woman, remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities during their investigation. They are working to determine what exactly happened at that Vista intersection on October 23rd.
