Carmichael, CA (September 4, 2024) Sadness covered the city of Carmichael as news began to spread of a skateboarder’s death. The man was hit by a vehicle near the intersection of Marshall Avenue and Fair Oaks Boulevard, around 8:00 p.m. Tragically, the skateboarder did not survive the accident.
The sun and just set in Carmichael as a man rode a skateboard along Fair Oaks Boulevard. At approximately 8:00 p.m., a Chevrolet Suburban was headed west on Fair Oaks. For unknown reasons, the Suburban hit the skateboarder, knocking them to the ground. The driver immediately stopped and called for help, reports indicated.
Emergency personnel arrived at the scene and found the Skateboarder motionless on the ground. They rushed to the victim’s side, ready to begin life-saving treatment, but it was too late. The man had been killed in the collision and, with heavy hearts, authorities pronounced him dead at the scene.
Officers investigated the scene and have determined that drugs and alcohol were not factors in this collision. They are trying to figure out what exactly happened to cause this fatal collision in Carmichael. The driver of the Suburban cooperated during the investigation, officers reported. The accident remains under investigation as officers work to determine what happened and who was at fault.
