SOUTH LOS ANGELES, CA (November 14, 2022) – Steven Weems, 23, has been arrested for driving his Porsche Cayenne into a crowded South LA street carnival, injuring at least six people.

Police officers attempted to pull over Weems, who was in a white Porsche Cayenne, but instead he fled and drove toward the street carnival on South Trinity Street. Weems crashed through a cement railing and into the street carnival.
Six people were injured as a result of the crash, with victim ages ranging between 30 to 50, and taken to the hospital with varying degrees of injury. All the victims are expected to survive.
Weems is being held on $50,000 bail for felony hit-and-run, according to the LAPD, after his vehicle was found by police and he was later detained.
