RIVERBANK, CA (NOVEMBER 27, 2023): A 17-year-old girl has died after being fatally struck by a train in an unfortunate accident in Riverbank on Monday morning.
According to Riverbank authorities, the incident occurred on Monday, November 27th just before 11 a.m. on Patterson Road, when the train struck the girl under unclear circumstances. Emergency personnel arrived on scene shortly after, and unfortunately discovered the young girl dead near the railroad tracks under the Atchison Street Bridge.

The girl’s identity has not been publicly confirmed, but Riverbank Police Services confirmed she was a Riverbank resident. The Riverbank Unified School District also stated that the girl was one of their students.
