Las Vegas, NV (July 26, 2024) A sad crash took place on the morning of Thursday, July 25 in Vegas at about 3:20 a.m.
A man was walking on South Nellis Boulevard north of Boulder Highway as a Hummer H3 was traveling north on the roadway.
Las Vegas Metropolitan Police report that the driver of the Hummer was actually behind another vehicle. The first vehicle noticed the pedestrian and swerved out of the way, but the Hummer driver could not stop in time.
The Hummer hit the pedestrian, who sustained severe injuries. Their current condition is not known at this time.
The driver of the Hummer remained at the scene and cooperated with the ongoing investigation. Las Vegas Police have stated that they do not believe any sort of impairment was involved in this accident.
Update: The pedestrian has been identified as 45-year-old Steven Brito of Las Vegas.
