Wilmington, CA (November 11, 2023) A woman was fatally struck by a vehicle in Wilmington on Friday night, November 10th, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. The fatal collision occurred at approximately 7:45 p.m. at the intersection of G Street and George De La Torre, Jr. Avenue. Sadly, officers believe the accident was a result of a DUI driver.
The woman was simply walking on the evening of Friday, November 10th, when her life tragically came to an end. The desk officer at the Los Angeles Police Department’s Operations Center said the vehicle was heading west on G Street when, for reason still unknown, it hit the pedestrian. The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities following the collision on G Street in Wilmginton. The driver was arrested at the scene for suspicion of driving under the influence, according to officers.

Paramedics arrived and performed life-saving measures on the 41-year-old woman. She was carefully, but quickly, placed on a gurney and loaded into an ambulance. EMTs rushed her to the nearest hospital with life-threatening injuries, but she was later pronounced dead at the hospital. Her identity is being withheld until her next of kin has been notified.
