(Riverside, CA) A motorcyclist was hospitalized Wednesday afternoon, October 15, following a Riverside (91) Freeway crash involving a bus and a car, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The collision was reported around 4:30 p.m. on the westbound lanes near Tyler Street. CHP officials said the motorcycle collided with a Riverside Transit Agency bus. As a result, the bike overturned and threw the rider into the HOV lane. As the rider laid in the lane, the motorcycle struck a nearby car.
Riverside Fire Department paramedics arrived shortly after and treated the injured rider. When paramedics assessed the rider, they determined they sustained moderate injuries, transporting them to Riverside Community Hospital. No one aboard the bus or in the car was hurt. Authorities closed two lanes for safety but reopened them by 5 p.m. after crews cleared the scene.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation by CHP.
