Collision Between 2 Semi-Trucks Leaves Driver Critically Injured On 5 Freeway In Gorman

Three Airlifted Following a collision on Highway 15 in Apple Valley.

Gorman, CA (January 10, 2024) A horrific crash on the 5 Freeway in Gorman, California, left one person in critical condition, authorities said. The crash happened between two semi-trucks in the southbound lanes of the freeway on January 10th, 2024.

Emergency crews received the call right around 7:00 a.m. They rushed to the accident, south of Gorman, near Smoke Bear Road. They arrived to find a grisly scene. One of the semi-truck’s cabs was completely ripped apart during the collision.

Officers said that one person was trapped and had to be rescued by firefighters. They discovered that one of the victim’s legs had been severed during the accident. A rescue helicopter arrived at the scene and transported the victim to a local hospital with serious injuries. It seems that no one else was injured in this violent accident.

The California Highway Patrol said that one of the semi-trucks had crashed into the back of the other semi-truck. Initial investigation indicated that it occurred near the right shoulder of the freeway. The collision tore the trailer of the first semi, causing the contents to fall onto the road.

Officers are still unsure what caused this horrible accident on the 5 Freeway in Gorman. It is currently under investigation.
