Dublin, CA (June 14, 2024) It was just after 9:00 a.m. on Friday morning, June 14th, when at least three vehicles collided on the Arthur H. Breed, Jr. Freeway. The Alameda County collision left at least two passengers with injuries, according to reports. One of the vehicles tried to avoid the collision and ended up in the center divide, officers reported.
Right at 9:00 a.m. on Friday morning, traffic moved along the freeway at a decent pace. At approximately 9:02, a Costco semi-truck collided with a white Tesla. The force from the collision sent the semi-truck leaning until it landed on its side. A white Hyundai was driving near the two vehicles at the time of the crash and swerved to avoid hitting the two vehicles. In doing so, they lost control and ended up in the center divide of the freeway, reports indicated.
Emergency crews hurried to the scene and found two of the vehicles blocking traffic on the freeway. The Costco truck was on its side and the Tesla had sustained major damage. Debris was thrown all over the roadway and officers quickly had to begin directing traffic away from the accident. Paramedics arrived at the scene and located at least two passengers who had been injured in the accident. They were placed on stretchers and taken to a local hospital to receive treatment for non-life-threatening injuries, officers said.
Detectives wasted no time investigating the scene. They gathered evidence and took statements from those involved, as well as witnesses. They are working to determine not only what caused this accident on the Arthur H. Breed, Jr. Freeway in Dublin, but also who was at fault. Once they had concluded the investigation at the scene, they called for tow trucks to come and remove the damaged vehicles from the scene. The tow trucks also assisted in removing debris from the roadway, officers reported.
