Sutter County, CA (June 7, 2024) A fiery head-on collision took place just before 6:00 a.m. on Friday, June 7th. The collision involved a car and a semi-truck, according to the California Highway Patrol. The accident occurred just east of Valos Road on David Road in Meridian, reports indicated. The head-on crash in Sutter County left one person with serious injuries.
Initial reports indicated that a red Dodge Challenger was traveling along David Road as a semi-truck was traveling from the opposite direction. One of the vehicles drifted into oncoming traffic, causing a head-on collision in the middle of the roadway. The Dodge immediately caught on fire, according to reports. Within minutes, the vehicle was fully engulfed in flames. The quiet morning was suddenly filled with sirens as emergency vehicles made their way to the scene.
Firefighters quickly put out the flames and paramedics hurried to check on the driver of the Dodge, as well as the driver of the semi-truck. They found one person with serious injuries, although it has not been revealed if it is the driver of the Dodge or the semi-truck who was injured. The injured driver was taken to a local hospital to receive emergency treatment, according to reports.
