Semi-Truck Collision In Porterville Claims One Life

Porterville, CA (June 21, 2024) The community of Porterville was saddened as news spread of a fatal accident on Highway 190 on June 18th. The collision occurred near Avenue 144 just before 9:00 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol. Officers stated that it is a four-way stop with stop signs for all four directions. The tragic accident occurred between a black sedan and a semi-truck and one person sustained fatal injuries.

A 911 call came in reporting a collision between a sedan and a semi-truck at approximately 8:50 p.m., according to reports. Officers with the California Highway Patrol arrived at the scene with fire fighters from the Tulare County Fire Department and found the two damaged vehicles in the middle of the intersection. They hurried to the vehicles, knowing there were injuries because of the 911 call. One person was found with fatal injuries, according to reports. Paramedics knew there was nothing they could do. With heavy hearts, they pronounced the victim dead at the scene and waited for the coroner.

Officers investigated the scene and left nothing uncovered. They are working to determine what caused this fatal accident in Porterville. They are also determined to discover who was at fault in this collision. The sedan had to be hauled from the scene by a tow truck and crews had to clean debris and glass from the scene following the investigation.
