Rosamond, CA (March 11, 2024) A tragic accident occurred in Rosamond on Monday morning, claiming a life and injuring two others. The collision occurred between a pickup truck and a semi-truck at approximately 8:19 a.m., according to officers at the scene. The two vehicles collided, head-on, on Frontage Road.
A white semi-truck was heading along Frontage Road as a Dodge Ram 3500 dually pickup truck was approaching from the opposite direction. As the two drove closer to West Rosamond Boulevard, they crashed into each other, head-on. The force from the collision caused the Dodge pickup to roll and finally come to a stop on its roof, officers said.
The Kern County Fire Department arrived at the scene along with the California Highway Patrol and found the pickup truck badly damaged, on its roof, in the middle of the roadway. Paramedics rushed to help those who were injured and found one person with minor injuries and another with moderate injuries. A third person was found with life-threatening injuries and, sadly, did not survive the collision. They were pronounced dead at the scene.
Crews had to come to the scene and clean up nearly 50 gallons of fuel that had leaked onto the road following this fatal crash. Debris was thrown everywhere and officers even found some in the southbound lane of State Route 14.
Investigators gathered evidence and are continuing to investigate this deadly, head-on collision in Rosamond. They are determined to learn what caused this horrible accident and who was actually at fault.
