Shasta County, CA (May 24, 2024) A collision between a semi-truck and a pickup truck on May 20th, left two people with serious injuries. The California Highway Patrol reported that the accident occurred on Highway 44, not too far from Eskimo Hill, in Shasta County right around 8:00 a.m. The two vehicles collided head-on and the force caused the semi-truck to overturn.

A Chevrolet S10 pickup truck was heading along Highway 44 in Shasta County when it collided, head-on with a semi-truck. The force from the collision caused the semi-truck to tip and then completely rollover. The two badly damaged vehicles sat in the middle of the highway, following the accident, blocking lanes of traffic.

They were both placed on stretchers and loaded into ambulances where they were taken to a nearby hospital to receive treatment. They are expected to make a full recovery.

Officers took statements from people at the scene and gathered evidence. They are trying to figure out what caused this head-on collision in Shasta County on Highway 44 and which driver was at fault. The highway was reopened around 10:00 a.m. after officers had concluded their investigation of the scene. Tow trucks were called to remove the damaged vehicles from the roadway and crews cleaned up as much glass and debris as they could.
