Madera, CA (August 29, 2024) A multi-vehicle collision involving a semi-truck left four people with injuries in Madera. The accident took place on Highway 41, not far from Avenue 12, right around 7:30 a.m. Reports indicated that it all started when a semi-truck rear-ended a Honda Accord.
The morning commute took a turn for several motorists on Highway 41 in Madera on Tuesday morning, August 27th, 2024. As the crowded lanes became more and more congested, vehicles began stopping. A semi-truck carrying a set of double trailers either couldn’t stop in time, or failed to stop. It slammed into the back of a Honda Accord, which caused the Honda to slam into a Volkswagen. The Volkswagen hit a Nissan, which slammed into a Chevrolet pickup truck, forcing it into a Lexus.

The vehicles blocked a good portion of the highway and 911 calls began pouring in at the dispatch center. Officers arrived to find a chaotic mess on Highway 41. Paramedics quickly began helping those in need. They found the driver of the Honda, a 21-year-old, with a possible concussion. A 72-year-old Fresno man, a 30-year-old woman who was visiting from Italy and a 20-year-old man were also injured in the collision. Paramedics took them to a nearby hospital to receive treatment.
Officers reported that the 57-year-old semi-truck driver cooperated during the investigation at the scene. They are still work to determine what exactly happened on Highway 41 that morning.
