San Fernando Valley, CA (October 31, 2023) A bicyclist was killed in what authorities are referring to as a “Violent hit-and-run.” The Los Angeles Police Department said the accident occurred around 11:40 p.m. on Van Nuys Boulevard, not far from Burbank Boulevard.
According to police officers, both the bicyclist and the car were heading south on Van Nuys Boulevard. Reports indicate that the driver struck the bicyclist near the intersection of Burbank Boulevard and Van Nuys Boulevard. The bicyclist fell off the bike and became lodged under the vehicle following the collision.

The driver of the vehicle didn’t stop, but instead, continued driving down the road, dragging the bicyclist under the car. Eventually, the bicyclist became dislodged from underneath the vehicle and was left lying in the street. The driver then fled the scene.
Emergency crews arrived only to find the bicyclist deceased. They were pronounced dead at the scene and a coroner was called to the accident site.
Witnesses described the vehicle as a red Toyota sedan, possibly a Camry or Corolla, according to authorities. Officers are still looking for the driver and they ask that anyone with any information to contact the Los Angeles Police Department.
