Fresno, CA (February 29, 2024) 33-year-old Paul Sanchez was riding his bicycle along Clinton Avenue when he was struck by a vehicle. The driver of the vehicle didn’t stop, but continued driving until they could no longer be seen. Sanchez was left alone with life-threatening injuries, officers said.

It was February 10th in Fresno as Paul Sanchez rode his bicycle on East Clinton Avenue. As he approached Van Ness Boulevard, a vehicle hit his bicycle, according to reports. Sanchez landed on the sidewalk with life-threatening injuries following the collision. His bicycle was mangled and damaged, following the impact. The vehicle was nowhere to be found, having fled the scene, authorities said.

Police officers arrived at the scene and found Sanchez on the sidewalk with critical injuries. Paramedics rushed him to Community Regional Medical Center where he held on for a while, but sadly, succumbed to his injuries the following day. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Witnesses at the scene told police officers that they saw a dark-colored vehicle hit the bicyclist and then drive away.
