UPDATE MAY 18: The two men involved in the crash were identified as Modesto Talamantes, 51, and Thomas Ornelaz, 40. Both men were from San Fernando and died at the scene according to the coroner’s office. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
TUJUNGA, CA (May 16, 2022) – A deadly crash occurred Monday when two people were killed on the westbound side of the 210 freeway near La Tuna Canyon.
The accident occurred around 5:30 p.m. during rush hour traffic.
A sedan traveling westbound on the 210 ended up slamming into a big rig truck and two passengers inside the car were killed.
Firefighters and emergency responders arrived on the scene in an effort to remove the bodies from the vehicle.
The accident caused a major slowdown in traffic on the 210 freeway, along with the northbound 2 where the pursuit also took place.
So far, authorities are gathering information on what led to the fatal crash.
