Matthew Galea arrested for killing Dylan Yoacham hit-and-run in Sutter Creek
UPDATE May 20, 2022: The victim in this case was identified as 15-year-old Dylan Yoacham of Sutter Creek according to ABC 10. We earlier reported that Dylan was taken to a hospital in grave condition, and unfortunately has passed away after succumbing to his injuries.
SUTTER CREEK, CA (May 19, 2022) – Matthew Galea, 40, was arrested after fleeing a crash that injured a 16-year-old in Amador County.
The accident occurred on Tuesday night around 8:35 p.m., according to Sutter Creek Police, when the 16-year-old boy was crossing the road near Highway 49 and Valley View Way with another person.
In a Facebook post by the Sutter Creek Police Department, the teenager was said to have been struck by a car and taken to a trauma center in Sacramento in “grave condition.”
Galea fled the scene after the crash, but was later found and identified in El Dorado County. He was arrested and booked into Amador County Jail for suspicion of felony hit and run resulting in death or injury.
