Las Vegas, NV (March 22, 2024) Tiny orange cones covered Las Vegas Boulevard on Friday morning following a fatal collision. Inside the cones was a vehicle that had been split in two. The traumatic collision happened right at 3:30 a.m. at the intersection of Las Vegas Boulevard and Walnut Road in northeast Las Vegas. Tragically, 38-year-old Luciano Chavez y Chavez lost her life in this crash.
It was early morning in Las Vegas as cars headed along Las Vegas Boulevard in the dark. Details are still coming in but officers with the Las Vegas Metropolitan police received a 911 call just after 3:30 a.m. regarding a two vehicle collision on Las Vegas Boulevard. One of the vehicles rolled over during the collision and split into two pieces, according to officers.
Paramedics arrived at the scene and found Chavez y Chavez with life-threatening injuries. She was rushed to University Medical Center via ambulance where the medical team did everything within their power to help her, but sadly, she succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital. Several other people sustained injuries in the collision as well, but authorities expect them all to make a full recovery.
