Palm Springs, CA (March 23, 2024) 71-year-old Robert Kerman was fatally injured when his motorcycle collided with a vehicle in Palm Springs. The tragic accident took place at the intersection of North Hermosa Drive and Amado Road just after 9:20 p.m. on Wednesday, March 20th.
Initial reports suggest that a vehicle turned onto the road directly in front of Kerman’s motorcycle. Kerman had no time to react and slammed into the vehicle, officers said. Lt. Gustavo Araiza with the Palm Springs Police Department reported that they arrived at the scene and found Kerman lying on the ground with life-threatening injuries. First responders began life-saving measures until the paramedics arrived at the scene.
Paramedics quickly loaded Kerman into the ambulance and rushed him to Desert Regional Medical Center in critical condition. Unfortunately, he never made it to the hospital. During the ride in the ambulance, Kerman succumbed to his injuries and was, sadly, pronounced dead.
Kerman’s motorcycle laid in the roadway with severe damage and had to be hauled from the scene, according to officers. East Amado Road was closed for a significant period of time from Avenida Caballeros to Sunrise Way. Investigators gathered evidence and are determined to understand what caused this fatal accident in Palm Springs.
