DIXON, CA (May 11, 2022) – A 42-year-old Sacramento man was killed in a three-vehicle car accident on I-80 near the town of Dixon, which is approximately 20 miles northeast of Fairfield, on Tuesday.
The accident occurred around 6:50 a.m., where a Ford F-650 heading west on I-80 near Pedrick Road rear-ended a Ford F-450.
According to Solano’s California Highway Patrol office, the F-650 continued to sideswipe a tractor-trailer, and the F-450 hit a metal guardrail on the center median.
The Sacramento man driving the F-650 was pronounced dead at the scene by Solano Coroner’s officials.
A 28-year-old passenger inside the F-650 was taken to a local hospital with major injuries, according to the CHP.
Four occupants inside the F-450 suffered some minor injuries and were not taken to the hospital.
The cause of this accident is still under investigation, and the identity of the 42-year-old Sacramento man will be released pending notification of the family.
