Tracy, CA (May 20, 2024) A single-vehicle collision in Tracy claimed one person’s life on Sunday morning and left three others with serious injuries. It all happened on Interstate 580, just east of Chris man Road, according to the California Highway Patrol. The collision occurred mere minutes after 1:00 a.m. and left the front seat passenger deceased.
A Toyota Sedan was heading east on Interstate 580 when, for reasons still unknown, the vehicle drove over the median and into oncoming traffic in the westbound lanes. The car slammed into a guardrail and then crashed into the perimeter fence on the freeway.
The California Highway Patrol quickly arrived at the scene and found the badly damaged Toyota near the perimeter fence. They hurried to the vehicle to see if anyone was injured and found the front seat passenger unresponsive. With heavy hearts, they pronounced the victim dead at the scene. Three other people in the vehicle were seriously injured in the crash, reports indicated. The driver and the backseat passenger on the right side, were both taken to Joaquin General Hospital to receive treatment for serious injuries. The left backseat passenger was taken to Sutter Tracy with minor to moderate injuries, according to reports.
