Yountville, CA (June 10, 2024) Shock and sadness blanketed the community of Yountville following a head-on collision on Friday, June 7th. The head-on collision claimed 46-year-old Hipolita Perez’s life and left five others with injuries, reports indicated. One of the drivers involved fled the scene following the accident on Silverado Trail. Officers reported that the tragic accident took place right around 4:20 p.m.
It was late on Friday afternoon in Yountville as vehicles traveled to and from destinations. A Toyota Sienna minivan was heading south on Silverado Trail with four passengers. For reasons that are still unknown to authorities, the minivan veered into oncoming traffic and collided head-on with a BMW X3 SUV. The driver of the minivan immediately jumped out of the vehicle and fled the scene on foot, leaving his passengers behind.

Paramedics arrived at the scene and found the four passengers in the minivan, three of them had sustained injuries and one passenger was found unresponsive. Nothing could be done, as she had been killed in the collision. She was identified as Hipolita Perez from Fairfield, according to reports. A 62-year-old passenger in the BMW was also injured in the collision. Paramedics took five people to hospitals in the area to receive treatment for injuries they had sustained during the accident.
