RIVERSIDE, CA (May 25, 2022) – Ryan Wick, owner of Wick’s Brewery, has been charged for murder in killing Gary Boeldt last week in a DUI accident according to the Daily Bulletin.
We initially reported that Wick, 39, had been charged with four DUIs in the past, and that he continued to drive while intoxicated, showing complete negligence and disregard for others.
The San Bernardino District Attorney’s Office decided to charge Ryan Wick with murder this time, in addition to DUI, after he crashed his white Audi into Boeldt’s BMW SUV, causing the SUV to roll multiple times down a hill and landing on the street below. Reports say that Wick was traveling in excess of 100 mph.
Boeldt was killed in the accident, and his wife Christine Carroll who was in the car with him at the time was injured. They were headed to Lake Tahoe at the time of the accident to celebrate their one-year anniversary.
Wick was able to post his $1.1 million bail and plead not guilty to both charges brought against him. He is due back in court June 6.
