Alameda, CA (February 13, 2024) An Alameda community was shaken on Sunday afternoon following a devastating accident. 31-year-old motorcyclist Albert Zhu was riding a Suzuki along Lincoln Avenue when he was killed in a collision. The Alameda Police Department reported that the fatal collision took place right around 1:00 p.m. on February 11th.
Zhu was riding his motorcycle east when a gray 4-door sedan turned onto Lincoln Avenue from Ninth Street right in front of him. Zhu had no time to react and slammed into the vehicle, authorities said. Zhu was thrown from his motorcycle, which landed in a mangled mess on the ground near him.

The Alameda Police Department arrived at the scene with paramedics and discovered that the collision had been so forceful that the airbags in the vehicle had deployed. They rushed to Zhu, lying lifeless on the ground, and began life-saving measures. Sadly, nothing could be done and Albert Zhu was pronounced dead at the scene.
Zhu was a beloved member of the Alameda community and his friends said that he was always careful when riding his motorcycle. “This is just a terrible accident,” a friend said. The community is still grappling with the loss that Zhu’s death has created.
