Irvine, CA (February 1, 2024) Tragedy struck the city of Irvine on Thursday, February 1st, when a motorcycle accident claimed the life of 23-year-old Jotham Daniel Gant. Another person, also on the motorcycle, was left with life-threatening injuries following this awful accident. The deadly collision took place on Shady Canyon, not far from Quail Hill Parkway.
Gant was riding the motorcycle with the other person when they lost control and crashed into a roundabout, authorities said. Both victims were thrown from the motorcycle and, unfortunately, neither rider was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.

Emergency crews arrived at the scene and found the two motorcyclists on the ground with life-threatening injuries. Paramedics jumped into action and began giving life-saving measures to the victims, but sadly, Gant succumbed to his injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The other victim was rushed to a local hospital in critical condition, Oldoerp reported.
At the time of the collision, officers weren’t sure who was driving the motorcycle, according to Irvine Police Officer Kyle Oldoerp. Investigators are currently working this accident to determine what caused this deadly motorcycle collision in Irvine.
