Motorcyclist Killed In Highway 46 Collision In Buttonwillow

Motorcyclist injured in North Hollywood hit-and-run on SR-134.

Buttonwillow, CA (April 8, 2024) A crash involving a motorcycle took place early Saturday morning, April 6th, in Buttonwillow. The motorcyclist, described as a 60-year-old man, was hit from behind by a vehicle on Highway 46 right around 5:40 a.m., according to reports. Sadly, the driver didn’t survive the accident.

Initial reports indicated that the motorcyclist was riding west on Highway 46 and the Chevrolet was driving behind it. The motorcyclist pulled onto the shoulder of the highway, and as he slowed down, he was hit from behind by the Chevrolet. The man was thrown from the motorcycle and landed, hard, on the ground. The motorcycle slid across the ground until it finally came to a stop on the side of the road.

The California Highway Patrol arrived at the scene and found the motorcyclist lying on the ground, motionless. The back of the motorcycle had sustained major damage in the collision. Paramedics rushed to the motorcyclist, ready to give him life-saving measures, but there was nothing they could do. Sadly, they pronounced the motorcyclist dead at the scene and waited for the coroner to arrive.

Investigators began working the scene and searching for evidence. They reported that it seemed that the driver of the Chevrolet deliberately steered the vehicle into the back of the motorcycle. There is no news as to whether or not the driver of the Chevrolet remained at the scene or if they were injured in this collision. Officers are still investigating this accident to determine exactly what happened on Highway 46 in Buttonwillow that morning.
