San Luis Obispo Collision On Highway 101 Claims Motorcyclist’s Life

Motorcyclist killed in San Luis Obispo crash.

San Luis Obispo, CA (September 11, 2024) A 29-year-old motorcyclist from Bakersfield was killed in a collision on Sunday afternoon, September 8th, 2024. The accident took place on Highway 101, near Fourth Street in the Grover Beach area, officers reported. It happened around 3:30 p.m. and caused traffic issues in the area.

The motorcyclist was said to be riding along Highway 101 at a high rate of speed when he tried to turn and lost control. The motorcycle ended up in the dirt median before the rider was thrown from the motorcycle. He was thrown into the guardrail, according to reports, and landed on the ground in the northbound median.

Emergency crews arrived at the scene and found the rider on the ground with life-threatening injuries. The was rushed to Adventist Health Sierra Vista Hospital to receive emergency treatment. The emergency medical staff did everything within their power, but the rider’s injuries were too severe and he eventually succumbed to them. Sadly, he was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Officer had to block traffic in both directions as they investigated and then cleaned the scene. They do not suspect drugs or alcohol to be factors in this deadly motorcycle collision in San Luis Obispo.
