Citrus Heights, CA (November 25, 2023) An 11-year-old boy was struck and injured by a vehicle in Citrus Heights on Friday night, November 24th. The Citrus Heights Police Department reported that the accident occurred on Auburn Boulevard and Greenback Lane around 9:00 p.m.

Officers with the Citrus Heights Police Department said the boy was walking within a crosswalk but was “crossing illegally” at the time of the accident. Emergency crews arrived to find the boy critically injured. Paramedics at the scene loaded the 11-year-old boy into an ambulance and rushed him to a local hospital for treatment. Police officers said the boy was in critical condition, but his vitals were stable.
The driver of the pickup that hit the boy remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities. Officers do not believe drugs or alcohol were factors in this crash.
