12-year-old Journee Buchanan Williams fatally struck in Apple Valley

12-year-old Journee Buchanan Williams was struck and killed by a vehicle while crossing a street in Apple Valley.

APPLE VALLEY, CA (NOVEMBER 9, 2023): 12-year-old Journee Buchanan Williams was fatally struck by a vehicle while crossing the street in Apply Valley on Monday, November 6th.

According to Apple Valley authorities, the incident occurred around 11:05 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 18 and Apple Valley Road. Williams has stopped by a nearby 7-Eleven to buy snacks when the vehicle struck her under unclear circumstances. Emergency personnel responded to the scene shortly after, and attempted life resuscitating measures. Unfortunately, the girl succumbed to her injuries and died at the scene.

A witness shared that authorities were looking for Williams prior to the incident.

“She had ran away from a group home and cops had been looking for her, but 15 minutes later she was dead,” stated a witness who chose to remain anonymous.

The vehicle initial fled the scene, but returned a short time after. A description has not been made available and no arrests were reported as of yet.

The circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear. Apple Valley authorities continue to investigate this collision that killed 12-year-old Journee Buchanan Williams.
