Brian Dean Johnson Struck & Killed By 2 Vehicles In Apple Valley

Owen Coolidge struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver in Leimert Park in Los Angeles.

Apple Valley, CA (January 16, 2024) 55-year-old Brian Dean Johnson, an Apple Valley resident, was killed in a pedestrian accident in his home town last week. According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Coroner, the fatal accident occurred shortly after 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 11th. Johnson was hit by two vehicles on US Highway 18 at Pawnee Road in Apple Valley.

A black Toyota Tacoma pickup was heading east on Highway 18 when it struck Johnson in the 21900 block of the highway. The force of the collision threw Johnson into the path of an oncoming silver Dodge Ram 1500 pickup. The driver of the Dodge had no time to react and also hit Johnson. Both vehicles stopped and waited for police officers to arrive, according to authorities.

The Apple Valley Fire Department sent paramedics to the scene where they found Johnson lying, motionless, on the highway. It was 6:12 p.m. when they pronounced Johnson dead at the scene.

Investigators said they are still investigating this fatal pedestrian accident to determine exactly what happened on Highway 18 in Apple Valley that day. Johnson’s family and friends have started a GoFundMe account to help cover funeral costs.
