Christopher Plummer Killed In Twentynine Palms Hit-And-Run

Pedestrian killed in Oakland hit-and-run.

Twentynine Palms, CA (January 16, 2024) Just after 8:40 p.m. on Friday, January 5th, dispatchers responded to a pedestrian hit-and-run that left Twentynine Palms resident, Christopher Plummer, dead. The 55-year-old pedestrian was walking in the 75000 block of Amboy Road when he was hit. San Bernardino County Officials said the driver fled the scene after hitting Plummer.

Initial investigation revealed that Plummer had been walking west on Amboy Road when a vehicle hit him. The vehicle didn’t stop, it didn’t even slow down. Instead, it fled the scene before emergency crews arrived, leaving Plummer alone in the roadway, with life-threatening injuries.

Deputies arrived at the scene and found Plummer lying in the roadway, motionless and unresponsive. The vehicle that struck him was nowhere to be found. Paramedics used life-saving measures and did all they could, but Plummer was, sadly, pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers searched the area for evidence and have asked any witnesses to step forward with information. They hope to find the vehicle that hit Plummer and bring its driver to justice for this fatal collision in Twentynine Palms.
