APPLE VALLEY, CA (NOVEMBER 25, 2023): Charlie Zamora Urias has been identified as the pedestrian fatally struck by a hit-and-run vehicle on Navajo Road in the Apple Valley neighborhood last weekend.
According to the Apple Valley Sheriff’s Station, the incident occurred on Sunday, November 19 at approximately 7:19 p.m., as Urias travelled northbound on Navajo when a silver sedan traveling in the same direction struck him under unclear circumstances. The vehicle then fled the scene. A second vehicle, a Chevrolet Traverse, then struck the already injured Urias in the roadway. This driver remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities.

Upon the arrival of emergency personnel, Urias was unfortunately pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities are searching for the driver of the silver sedan that initially struck and killed Urias. They encourage anyone with information to contact the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Major Accident Investigation Team (M.A.I.T). The Department will conduct an investigation into the tragic death of Charlie Zamora Urias.
