Las Vegas, NV (April 29, 2024) It seems that hit-and-run accidents are happening more often. A pedestrian tragically lost their life on Sunday morning in Las Vegas because of a hit-and-run driver. The fatal accident took place on Interstate 215 near the Far Hills northbound on-ramp right around 6:00 a.m., according to reports.
A pedestrian walked along the shoulder of Interstate 215 in Las Vegas as the sun rose over the city. Vehicles came and went, but suddenly a Honda sedan approached the pedestrian. Without warning, the vehicle hit the pedestrian, causing life-threatening injuries. Law requires drivers to stop and remain at the scene following injury accidents. That is not what happened, though. Instead of stopping, the Honda just continued down the road, leaving the seriously injured pedestrian behind.
Emergency crews arrived at the scene and found the pedestrian lying on the ground, unresponsive. Officers did everything they could to save the pedestrian, but their injuries were too severe. Sadly, the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene and officers called for the coroner.
Witnesses described the vehicle as a Honda sedan from 2017-2021. Officers said the vehicle more than likely has damage on the right front from this collision. They are determined to find the vehicle and hopefully locate the driver who was responsible for this fatal hit-and-run as well.
